Basso Celestia: Ah, Ça Ira!

Leah appears as a soloist and ensemble member for “Ah, Ça Ira!”

Our program “Ah, Ça Ira” (“It’ll be alright!”) is structured around the pursuit of liberty in a period marked by resistance, rebellion, and revolution. Three revolutions were key to shaping the late eighteenth century: the Jacobite rising (1745-1746), the American Revolution (1775-1783), and the French Revolution (1789-1799). Featuring music from France, Scotland, and early America, this program is a testament to the many roles that music played in this period of change, from direct calls to action, to folk music preserving a sense of home, to telling tales carried back across the sea.

Presented in Wilmington’s Old Town Hall by Market Street Music
